The best of both worlds.

August 18, 2009

Warning: I’m going to geek out on this one. So if photography, vintage and technology aren’t your thing, feel free to skip this post.

I’ve been wanting a small digital video camera for awhile now. I purchased one for my Dad at Christmas last year. It wasn’t top of the line, far from it in fact, but it does the job and makes him happy. Well, most of the time. It’s actually got a pretty confusing menu.

Call me a hipster or whatever. I won’t take offense when I say this: I’ve been yearning for a Holgo. Well, any kind of retro camera, really. Holga’s capture the most dreamy effects that you just can’t fake in Photoshop.

Just look how amazing this is.

So when I ran across this litte guy, I have to admit that I’m pretty excited. The Digital Harinezumi Video Camera combines both of what I’m looking for. It not only takes those low-quality pictures I crave, but also does equally low quality digital film. Score!

Here’s a cute YouTube that Urban Outfitters did that captures that “quality” I want.

Now to wait for it to actually be available here in the U.S. You can pre-order on UO, but I want it now! Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock. (Can you hear my impatience?)
