Milwaukee

Daniel and I ventured north to Milwaukee for a quick day trip after we got back from Texas. It’s only a 90 minute drive, which seemed like nothing compared to the 16 hour drive to Chicago we had just completed. But mostly I wanted to mark another state off my list and have a good beer.

……………………………………………………………………………………………..

Milwaukee is super small compared to Chicago and a massive snow storm was coming down right as we rolled into town. Lovely.

It was lunch time, so we stopped at the Milwaukee Public Market (kind of like Reading Terminal Market or Pike’s Place) and chowed down on blackened tilapia from St. Paul Fish Company. Try it. You won’t be disappointed.

Then it was beer time. What else do you do in Milwaukee, anyway?

We took a tour at Lakefront Brewery, where I swear all of the employees were moderately drunk. I’m not kidding. For $7, you get a tour, four beers and a beer mug to keep. That’s a serious deal there and the beer ain’t bad either.

It was around 4 p.m. at this point and getting dark. The snow was making me nervous so we took a quick drive to the museum, checked out Lake Michigan from another side, watched our fingers freeze taking pictures, then hightailed back to Chi.

You can look at more of our fab Milwaukee pics here, if you’re so inclined.
